Twin Lakes Notes Weekend Events

Twin Lakes State Park announces the following weekend events:

Friday, August 1, Nature Nook, 11 a.m., “Native Know How” – make jewelry; 2 p.m., “Survival Hike” – learn to survive if lost; 4 p.m., “Gold Panning” – see how pioneers searched for gold, then try your luck; 7:30 p.m., “Campfire Songs” – meet in the fire circle near Shelter 1, make s’mores, and sing camp songs;

Saturday, August 2, Nature Nook, 11 a.m., “Weather Experiment” – learn about weather patterns, then make your own rain storm; 2 p.m., “Canoeing” – explore one of the lakes with an interpretive guide and discover local wildlife, meet at the Goodwin Lake Boat Ramp, $5 per person or $4 per person for groups of 4+; 4 p.m., “Skin and Bones” – learn about local wildlife with this hands on event;

Sunday, August 3, Interpretive Circle, 11 a.m., “Creature Feature – Butterflies” – get informed on butterflies; 2 p.m., “Archery” – learn about archery from a ranger, then test your skills on the range, $5 per person or $25 per group; 4 p.m., “Make Your Own Pet” – use recycled materials to craft a pet animal.
