Heartland Horse Heroes is holding their first annual benefit Barn Dance on Saturday, April 26.
Heartland Horse Heroes provides equine assisted therapy for all ages along with a new program for at risk youth – Inner City Slickers. Inner City Slickers was founded by Michal McMeel, former Three Dog Night drummer and member of Kaptain Kool and the Kongs on The Krofft Supershow. Inner City Slickers is a one day event where young folks can come together to find the good that lives inside them and shine a light on what they could be. This is done with the help of horses and humans. HHH is proud to be sponsoring their first Inner City Slicker event on April 26.
The Barn Dance will benefit the programs of Heartland Horse Heroes. Start the evening with a delicious barbeque dinner by the Millbrook Store then dance the night away to the music of local favorites Amaris and Shiloh Wilbanks. Michael McMeel will be joining the band for a few tunes as well. The dance is being held at STEPS Center at 100 Industrial Drive in Farmville, 7 – 10 p.m. April 26. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door; 10 years old and under free. Beer and wine wristbands will be available. Call 434-547-2120 to purchase tickets.
Heartland Horse Heroes is a non-profit organization located at Sprouse’s Corner Ranch in Dillwyn. For more information about equine assisted therapy or to volunteer call 434-983-8181 and www.heartlandhorseheroes.com.
