High Bridge Trail State Park will have its annual First Day Hike beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, at the River Road access to High Bridge Trail and will follow the trail to High Bridge. The total length of the hike is about three miles and will conclude with a short talk on the artillery used in the fortifications by Powhatan resident Bill Graham. The Friends Group will be on hand to dispense hot beverages to refresh participants after the hike.
