The 2013 Summer Swimming Classes at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center, 1267 4-H Camp Road, Appomattox, include the following:

Youth Beginning Swimming for ages four to 12 is an eight-day course designed to teach youth water familiarization and basic swimming strokes. Course enrollment fee covers child and one attending parent. There are two sessions scheduled, June 24 – July 4, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. and July 8 – July 18 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per child.


Water Babies is a four-day course for ages one through four designed to orient children to the water. Parents must participate in the water with their child. Classes are schedule July 22 – July 25 from 5:30 – 6 p.m. and the cost is $35 per child.

All parents are encouraged to share in the fun by “getting in” and participating with their children. In-water parental participation is required for all children who are less than three feet and six inches tall.
