The wedding of Taren Nicole Morris to Joseph Aaron Barton took place at five o'clock on Saturday, July 21, at MacCallun More Museum and Gardens in Chase City. Their nuptials were presided over by the Reverend Jimmy Lewis. The wedding was followed by a reception at Briery Country Club in Keysville.
The bride is the granddaughter Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Morris, of Lowesville; Mr. Donnie Napier and Mary Owen of Wyllies-burg, and the late Joyce Napier of Wylliesburg. Taren is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brain Morris, of Wylliesburg.
The groom is the grandson Mr. Woodrow Barton of Green Bay, the late Mrs. Blannie Barton of Green Bay. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. William Groves and Mrs. Geraldine Groves of Nevada. The couple would like to honor Kevin Barton, brother of the groom from Farmville, who was unable to attend the wedding. He is currently serving in Afghanistan.
The bride wore a chiffon halter A-line gown with side drape to a sparkling, beaded flower, with a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of yellow calla lilies. The bouquet was hand tied with a broad white satin ribbon. The bride wore green peep toe stilet-tos.
The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Kristen Newman, of Keysville. Bridesmaids were Brittnay Gray, of Clayton, New Jersey; Jessica Price, of Wylliesburg; Adrienne Campbell, of Keysville; Tiffany Setzer, of Saxe; Sarah Barton, sister of the groom, of Keysville. Junior bridesmaid, Abby Clements, resides in Keysville. Flower girl Macy Clements, also resides in Keysville.
Mr. Barton served as his son's best man. Groomsmen were Domenico Aldi, of Farmville; David Barton Jr. brother of the groom, of Keysville; Sean Barton, brother of the groom, of Keysville; Darrin Mckay, of Farmville; Tyler Morris, brother of the bride, of Nathalie. Junior groomsmen was Isaac Napier, nephew of the bride, of Chase City. Ring bearers were Clay Clements, of Keysville, and Zeke Barton, nephew of the groom, of Keysville. Ushers were John Fallen and David Napier, uncle of the bride.
Mrs. April Napier, aunt of the bride of Chase City, served as mistress of ceremonies. The music was performed by Mrs. Tamara Morris, aunt of the bride, of Madisonville, and Miss Brittany Card, of Chase City. Alice Napier, of Keysville, catered the reception. Mike Thompson, of Jetersville, provided music at the reception, and Willey Morgan, of Wylliesburg, provided music at the wedding. Photographers were Miss Brandy Rutledge, of Wylliesburg, and Miss Kristen Newman, of Keysville. Guest book attendant was Julie Morris, cousin of the bride, and program attendant was Hannah Guthrie, cousin of the bride.
After the wedding and reception the couple left for Washington D.C., then flew to Cozumel, Mexico, for a week at the Aura Grand Resort. The couple now resides in Drakes Branch. Joseph is currently employed at Southside Electric Cooperative, and Taren is currently employed at Court House Medical Center.
Taren Nicole Morris and Joseph Aaron Barton were honored with three showers.
Teresa Morris, April Napier, and Kristen Newman hosted the first on April 22 at Bacon District Fire Department.
A stock-the-bar party given by Teresa Morris and Tiffany Setzer was held at Briery County Club on June 1.
Adrienne Campbell, Jessica Price, and Robin Gregory gave a lingerie shower on July 1 at Briery Country Club.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the Lisa Gillespie house on July 20 in Chase City.
