Dr. and Mrs. Frank Howe, of Buckingham, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kate Elane, to Justin Andrew Wrather Taft, of Arlington. Justin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Taft, of Alexandria. Kate is the granddaughter of Teresa Hom, of Charlottesville, and the late Jim Y. Hom, of Freehold, NJ, and the late Joseph and Frances Howe, of West Chester, PA. Justin is the grandson of Gladys Lane, of Epsom Surrey, England, and the late Alfred Lane, also of Epsom Surrey, England, and the late Benjamin and Sarah Taft, of New York, NY.

Kate graduated from Buckingham County High School, received her bachelor's degree from The College of William and Mary, and her master's degree in public health from The George Washington University. She is the program manager for Child Health at the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs in Washington, DC.

Justin graduated from St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, and his master's degree in E-commerce from George Mason University. He is president and CEO of The Soter Group, LLC based in Arlington.

A June wedding in Charlottesville is planned.
