Twin Lakes State Park announces the following events:
Friday, June 1, 4 p.m., “Guided Beaver Hike” – hike along one of the trails, meet at the Concession Stand; 6 p.m., “Family Game Night” – board games, card games, puzzles, meet at Shelter 2; 8 p.m. “Make New Friends Campfire” make new friends, sing songs, hear a few great stories, and enjoy some s'mores, meet at the campfire behind Shelter 1;
Saturday, June 2, 11 a.m., “Clean the Bay Day Volunteer Opportunity” – “Clean the Lake Day,” to register a group or family call the Main Office; 2 p.m. “National Trails Day Story Hike” combine a love of reading with the great outdoors; 4 p.m., “Going Green Program” create things using 100% recycled materials making bird feeders from recycled soda bottles, fee for the program is $2 per person, $6 per family; 9 p.m., “Owl Prowl” – prowl around as the sun goes down in search of these night dwellers, meet at the Concession Stand;
Sunday, June 3, 2 p.m. “Canoeing 101” – start with the basics to learn the ins and outs of canoeing and enjoy a splashing good time on the lake, fee for the program is $5 per person, $4 per person for groups of 4+.
A Father's Day Fishing Tournament will be held June 17 from 10 a.m. to noon, awards will be given to the tournament's top anglers, participants must have a valid VA fishing license, to register call the Main Office at 434-392-3435.
