Mr. and Mrs. John Humes, of Sharpsburg, NC, and formerly of Farmville, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 8. They were married May 8, 1942, in Cumberland. The couple has five children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their children hosted a picnic for family and friends on May 5 at their home.
