As part of the youth art month celebration at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, Cricket Edmonson and Joy Utzinger, art teachers at Prince Edward County Elementary School, helped their students – and colleagues – create a giant, colorful Chinese dragon. The teachers are shown here with Rianna and Richard Harvey, two of the 978 students who worked on the project. The LCVA's Annual Area Youth Art Exhibition will remain open through April 21. The exhibition features 524 works by young artists from public, private, and home schools in ten counties. Located at the corner of Main and Third in downtown Farmville, the LCVA is open Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
