Sailor's Creek To Hold St. Patrick's Day Event

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Sailor's Creek Battlefield Historical State Park in Amelia, on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m.

Longwood University Intern Blake Whitacre and Park Interpreter, Judi McParland will be presenting a program about Irish Union and Confederate Soldiers during the American Civil War. They will discuss motives, key figures, events and highlight several Irish regiments. In addition, they will point out major aspects of Irish history and Irish involvement immediately fol-lowing the Civil War.

Genuine Irish refreshments will be served after the program; bring chairs, stamp booklet and Irish spirit.

This is program six of the Sailor's Creek Battlefield Historical Education Series; the goal of this program is to educate the public about the different aspects the American Civil War. Program participants will be rewarded for their efforts at the end of year depending on their level of attendance. To receive credit for attendance to these events please pick up a Stamp Booklet from the Visitor's Center at Sailor's Creek Battlefield Historical State Park.
