Vows Exchanged

Meghan Leigh Armstrong, of Dillwyn and formerly of Midlothian, and Christopher Paul Senger, of Buckingham, were united in marriage Nov. 12, 2011, at Old Thomas Road Baptist Church's Pate Chapel in Lynchburg.

The bride's father, Pastor Tommy Armstrong, performed the 4 p.m. double-ring ceremony. Pastor Rick Caldwell assisted.

The bride is the daughter of the Rev. Tommy and Margaret Armstrong, of Dillwyn and formerly of Midlothian. The groom is the son of Paul and Brenda Senger, of New Castle, Del., formerly of Buckingham.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless champagne A-line silhouette with a beaded Chantilly lace overlay and a scalloped semi-chapel train. She carried a bouquet of red roses and lilies. Following the ceremony, the bride changed into an ivory satin empire-waist party dress accented by hand-embroidered crystals.

Serving as pianist was John Murdock, of Richmond. The bride's mother performed special music on the guitar. As their first act as a married couple, the bride and groom took communion.

The bride was attended by her sister Rebecca Armstrong, of Luray, as maid of honor. Katie Saxon Bryant, of Buckingham, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Dunkum Jenkins, of Alexandria; Allie Rubio, of Blacksburg; Elizabeth Mast, of Roanoke; and Tina Maxey, of Buckingham. Honorary bridesmaid was Ashley Goodwin Woods, of Hawaii, who along with her sister Sarah Goodwin, photographed the day's events. Abigail Lee Bryant, of Buckingham, served as flower girl.

The role of best man was shared by Eric Ottinger, of Harrisonburg, and the groom's father. Groomsmen were the groom's brother, Matthew Senger, of Richmond; Ben Massie, of Richmond; Jay Sheppard, of Lynchburg; and Allen Garrett, of Boonsboro.

Program attendants were Amy Senger, of Richmond, and Katherine Wilson and Laura Moore, both of Roanoke. Karen Dunkum, of Buckingham, served as mistress of ceremonies. Assisting was Ben Bryant, of Buckingham.

A reception was held at the James River Conference Center in downtown Lynchburg. After traditional dances, the bride and her father surprised guests with a choreographed routine to James Brown's “I Feel Good.” They wore matching red three-piece pinstriped suits and a selection of hats.

After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple is residing in Fairfield.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of Buckingham County High School. The bride is a 2007 graduate of Radford University. The groom is a 2011 graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg and is employed as a culinary manager in Lexington.

Prenuptial festivities included bridal and wedding showers by members of Concord Baptist Church, Sheppards, members of Cedar Baptist Church, Dillwyn, the groom's aunts Sharon Chandler and Carol Senger, bridesmaid Erin Dunkum Jenkins, and Katie Saxon Bryant, matron of honor.
