Amber Nicole Carwile, of Lynchburg, daughter of Steven Edward and Mary Harrup Carwile, of Pamplin, and Michael Anthony Christian, of Prospect, son of Gene A. Christian, of Charlottesville, and Karen Cuffle Sleigh, of Fort Hood, TX, announce their engagement.

Ms. Carwile received a Bachelor of Science degree in Government, Specializing in Pre-Law in 2004. She is employed as a mental health counselor by Centra Health, Inc.

Mr. Christian is a 2004 graduate of Prince Edward County High School. He is employed as a landscape engineer by A. B. Woodworking.
