Ray and Peggy Kelsey celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary Jan. 23 at The Woodland. They were married Jan. 23, 1955, at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle with Arthur H. Stevens officiating. They have four children: Philander Kelsey, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Hardy Kelsey, of Prospect; Karen Aimesbury, of Dover, NH; and Kimberly A. Shumaker, of Prospect. They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Ray was employed by the Presbyterian Home in Lynchburg and later with P.L. Duncan & Sons of Columbia. Peggy is retired after 35 years with Lynchburg Health Department of Social Services.
