Longwood Presentation To Be Given On “Wounded Warriors”

A presentation on “Army Strong & Wounded Warriors: Negotiating Recovery in Masculine Military Cultures” will given Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m. in Longwood University's Hull 132.

The presentation will be given by Maj. Stephan Ruppel-Lee, assistant professor of military science, and Longwood senior Chris Tobey, a specialist with the Army Reserve's 214th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. Tobey, who returned from Iraq in August 2010 after a one-year deployment, and Maj. Ruppel-Lee, who was a company commander in Iraq and now oversees Longwood's ROTC program, will discuss their experiences in working with soldiers with serious injuries.

The presentation is part of the Wednesdays with Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) lecture series, sponsored by the WGS program.
