Pat Lust, with coffee plant and cup, is ready for her talk on “Coffee: From Field to Mug to Garden.” She is one of many presenters offering talks on a variety of gardening subjects in the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners Speakers' Bureau.

Samples of titles are “Salad at Your Doorstep: Growing Vegetables in Containers,” “No-till Gardens: Goodbye to Back-Aching Gardening,” “Anchorage Garden Club Tour of Private Gardens: The Spectacular Effects of 24-hour Light in Alaska.” Subjects include organic practices, propagation, pruning, landscaping, bee keeping, water gardens, native plants and many more.

The Master Gardeners Program, an outreach of the Virginia Cooperative Extension, offers these services free of charge. However, donations to the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners will be accepted and used to help fund public lecture series and other educational events.
