Drive-in church services continue

The Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee will not be hosting its regular monthly meeting on Sunday, May 3, at 3 p.m. due to the coronavirus.

Buckingham Baptist Church located at 24234 North James Madison Highway in the Goldhill Area of New Canton will host 11 a.m. drive-in services Sunday, May 3. All those who plan to attend the service will drive into the parking lot and are to remain in their cars throughout the duration of the service having no contact with individuals while there and must leave following the service.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to the following people: Eleanor Troutman of Richmond and Barbara Dunn of Dillwyn both having birthdays on Friday, May 1, Tempy Davenport of Dillwyn on Saturday, May 2, Carol Luke of Farmville on Tuesday, May 5, Tina Anderson of Henrico on Wednesday, May 6 and Claire Landis of Farmville and Ginger Guthrie of Cumberland, both having birthdays on Thursday, May 7.

Belated happy birthday wishes are sent this week from Ray and Shirley Flowers of Farmville to our son Tommy Flowers of Rice, who celebrated his birthday Sunday, April 26.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will not be hosting its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 4, at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church of Dillwyn.

Hatcher Baptist Church of Cumberland will be hosting drive-in parking lot services on Sunday, May 3 at 11 a.m. if weather permits. Those planning to attend the service will drive into the parking lot and are to remain in their cars throughout the duration of the service having no contact with individuals while there and must leave following the service.

Victory Baptist Church located at 4339 Salem Road, Spout Springs will be hosting drive-in services on Sunday, May 3 at 10:30 a.m. All those planning to attend the service will drive into the parking lot and are to remain in their cars throughout the duration of the service having no contact with individuals while there and must leave following the service.

The Heart of Virginia Festival on May 2 in Farmville and May Fest in Buckingham on May 9 has been canceled due to the coronavirus.
