Members of the Longwood Garden Club met at the Farmville home of Kerry and Dan Mossler Monday, Oct. 22, where Kerry Mossler and Joy Stump served as hosts. The club welcomed Graham Reeves, General Manager of Stella’s Grocery in Richmond, who spoke on the history of cider in Virginia and offered tastings of his five favorite Virginia ciders. The arrangement for the day was “Autumn is a Second Spring When Every Leaf is a Flower” — A Creative Line Arrangement. Five arrangements were exhibited by club members. Shirley Blackwell and Ann Morton Neale were awarded blue ribbons for their arrangements. Kerry Mossler was awarded a red ribbon. Twenty-one horticultural specimens were exhibited by club members. Shirley Blackwell, Harlan Horton, Reed Horton, Rachel Ivers, Ann Morton Neale and David Whaley were awarded blue ribbons. Kerry Mossler, Charles Ross and Joy Stump were awarded red ribbons.
