Birthdays, anniversaries and visits noted

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to the following: Susie Taylor, of Dillwyn, Sunday; Kathy Midkiff, of Dillwyn, Monday; Opal Pembelton, of Powhatan, and Temple Taylor, of Dillwyn, both Tuesday.

The 39th Annual Hudgins Family Reunion will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the home of James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland. All family members and their guest are asked to attend and bring their favorite covered dish.

Our sympathy is extended to the Allen family of Dillwyn. Doris Thomas Allen, 88, recently went home to be with the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Ralph and Fern Dunavant, of Dillwyn, visited Fern’s mother, Myrle Gibson, and other family members of Covington on May 11.

Hello this week to our dear friend in Christ, Walter Stimpson, of Farmville.

Visiting in the home of James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, last week was Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, and also Larry and Barbara Gray, of Cumberland. A nice visit was had by all.

Our sympathy is extended to the Inez Short family of Powhatan. Inez, 93, recently went home to be with the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all.

Visiting in the home of Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, on Saturday afternoon was Larry Barone, of Cumberland, and his daughter Jan Crawley, of Farmville.

Happy anniversary wishes go out this week to a very special couple: Wayne and Bonnie Williams, of Arvonia, on  May 19.

Barry and Linda Miles, along with Jane Cook and her grandson Sam Givens, all of Cumberland, and Cheryl Canipe, of Henrico, all enjoyed Mother’s Day dinner at Cracker Barrel restaurant in Richmond.

Our sympathy is extended to the Pat V. Hawks family of Cumberland. Pat was 71-years- old. She recently went home to be with the Lord.
