Buckingham Baptist Church located at 24234 North James Madison Highway in the Goldhill Area of New Canton will be hosting a drive-in service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 28. All those planning to attend the service will drive into the parking lot and are to remain in their cars throughout the duration of the service. Having no contact with individuals while there and must leave following the service.
Hatcher Baptist Church of Cumberland will be hosting an in-house worship service Sunday, June 28, at 9 a.m. for those 60 years and older. Those 59 years and younger will attend the in-house worship service at 11 a.m. Those attending the in-house worship services must sit with their families and remain six feet apart from the next individuals or family. Those who are attending one or the other of these services and still feel uncomfortable in going in may remain in their cars and tune in FM 87.9 on the radio dial. Also at 6 p.m. There will be a drive-in parking lot service for all ages and those planning to attend the service will drive into the parking lot and are to remain in their cars or sit outside their vehicles on a lawn chair with their families.

Cedar Baptist Church located at 3932 Bell Rd Dillwyn will not be able to have Vacation Bible School like they had originally scheduled but they will be giving out fun kits for children Pre-K (3 years old) through fifth grade. So those who have pre-registered for their Bible School kits will need to pick them up at a drive thru on Friday, June 26, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. or Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Cedar Baptist Church.
Our sympathy is sent out this week to the Gilliam family of Dillwyn. Luther Pratt (L.P.) Gilliam, 80, of Dillwyn, a prominent business leader, went home to be with the Lord on Friday June 19. He will be greatly missed by all.
Victory Baptist Church located at 4339 Salem Road Spout Springs will be hosting an in-house worship service Sunday morning, June 28, at 9 a.m. The church will be at 50% capacity or 100 people. Families may sit together with distances of six feet from the next individual or family. People who are uncomfortable coming to this service may attend a drive-in parking lot service at 10:30 a.m. All those planning to attend the service will drive into the parking lot and are to remain in their cars or they may bring chairs and sit by their cars throughout the duration of the service. Having no contact with individuals while there and must leave following the service.
The 2020 Annual Scottsville Day Parade and other activities including fireworks after dark have been canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Buckingham County Christian Association’s monthly meeting scheduled for Monday, July 13, at 5 p.m. at Merk’s Place Restaurant of Farmville has been canceled due to COVID-19.
Buckingham United Methodist Charge consisting of Browns Chapel, Hanes Chapel and Rocky Mount UMC will be hosting drive-in parking lot services at Browns Chapel UMC located 15 North of Dillwyn on State Route 617 Gravel Hill Road Sunday, June 28, with morning worship service at 9:45 a.m. with special music featuring Barry Snoddy of Buckingham followed by the morning worship message from Evelyn Penn.
