Fellowship gospel singing

Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee will be hosting their regular monthly meeting on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Center located at Route 45 South and Davenport Road in Cumberland. The purpose of this meeting is to inform Cumberland County residents and surrounding counties with updated information as to why this mega landfill will be detrimental to everyone. All are welcome.

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Court Room.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Charlotte Davis of New Canton on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and Gene Absher of Dillwyn on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Happy anniversary wishes go out this week to a very special couple, Kevin and Rene Marion of Cumberland on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Welcome all to the 13th annual fellowship gospel singing featuring “Smokey Wilson & Michael Wayne Smith.” This will take place at Becky and Linda’s Powell’s Home on Friday, Sept. 20, from 5-9 p.m., located at 460 Holland Road, Farmville. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting their regular monthly meeting Saturday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at Teresa’s Place, Sprouses Corner. All members and their guests that plan to attend will need to pay for their own meal.
