Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. Spreading God’s Gifts Inc., a nonprofit organization serving Buckingham and surrounding counties in helping people in their hour of need, will be hosting its annual fish fry on Saturday, April 13, at 5 p.m. at Mulberry Grove Baptist Church, 13283 West James Anderson Hwy., Buckingham. Dinner to include fried fish, baked beans, fresh coleslaw, french fries dessert and beverage for a donation. You may eat in or take out. Browns, Hanes and Rocky Mount United Methodist churches of Dillwyn will be hosting special Easter weekend events. On Saturday, April 20, there will be an Easter egg hunt followed by a light lunch. Then on Sunday, April 21, join them for Sunrise Services at 6:30 a.m. with the presentation of “The Birth of Christ To Calvary” followed by breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Morning worship to conclude at 8:30 a.m. Pastor Rebecca Cook and the entire congregation welcome all to attend.

The Buckingham County High School Alumni welcome you to join them for “Let’s Fight Cancer Together” Fifth Annual Car and Bike Show on Saturday, April 27, from noon-4 p.m. at Teresa’s Place located at 15055 N. James Madison Hwy., Dillwyn. Cars best in show first place and second place. Motorcycles best in show first and second place in Domestic and Metric. Victory Baptist Church located at 4339 Salem Road, Spout Springs, will be hosting special Sunrise Services on Sunday, April 21. Sunrise Service will begin at 7 a.m. followed by breakfast and Easter egg hunt at the Woodman Of The World building located at 318 Harold St., Appomattox. The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Courtroom.

The 2019 Annual Spring Miles Reunion will be held Saturday, April 27, from 1-3 p.m. at Golden Corral Southside in Richmond. All family members and friends are welcome.
