Cumberland County Landfill Awareness Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting their regular monthly meeting on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Tabor Baptist Church located at 4898 Bridgeport Road, Arvonia. The 32nd Annual Virginia Catfish Festival, sponsored by the Southside Shrine Club, has been postponed until late July or mid-August due to circumstances beyond their control. A date will be given mid to late March.

The Appomattox Lions Club will be hosting live and in concert “The Inspirations” from Bryson City, North Carolina on Saturday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in the Appomattox County Auditorium located at 198 Evergreen Ave., Appomattox.
