Benefit dinner set

Cumberland Community Cares a non-profit organization, now partnering with “The Delma Branch Pantry,” will be distributing food to all Cumberland County residents who income qualify based on stated income and photo ID to receive free food on the first or the fourth Saturday of each month between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at the former Cumberland County Social Service building located at 1550 Anderson Highway. The next distributions will be Saturday and Saturday, Feb. 24. You may only receive food one time during the month. You must present your FeedMore card each time you receive food.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyle, of Cumberland, on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Fitzgerald Memorial Baptist Church located at 14 Fitzgerald Road in Cumberland will be hosting a free Community Dinner Wednesday Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. If you plan to attend please call (804) 492-5151 by Friday, Feb. 9 and leave your name and phone number and how many will be in attendance.

Cumberland Community Church located 1542 Anderson Highway across from Cumberland County Library cordially invites you to attend Sunday morning worship service each and every Sunday morning from 10-11 a.m.

The regular monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Board of Supervisors is held each second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room unless otherwise announced.

A speedy recovery is sent out this week to all those sick and shut in.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association a non-profit organization will be hosting their regular monthly meeting on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. for buffet breakfast at Teresa’s Place located at Sprouses Corner, Dillwyn. All members planning to attend will receive a free breakfast compliments from the general fund. Victory Baptist Church located at 157 Dove Lane Spout Springs will be hosting special services Sunday. Sunday School at 10 a.m. Morning worship will be held at 10:30 a.m. to feature Gospel Music at its best Dustin Jenkins from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This will follow the morning message. Lunch at the Woodman of the World building located 365 Harold St. in Appomattox. At 2 p.m. Dustin Jenkins will be back at the church for a full concert. Buckingham Baptist Church located U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn at 24234 North James Madison Highway will be hosting Southern Gospel Music at its best on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. feathering the Trinity Quartet from North Carolina. Pastor Bill Gillespie and the entire congregation invites all to attend.

Spreading God’s Gifts Inc. a non-profit organization serving Buckingham and surrounding counties in helping people in their hour of need will be hosting a benefit Valentine’s Dinner and dinner music on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Main street Dillwyn. Dinner to include roast beef, baked potato, green beans, fruit salad, roll, dessert and beverage all for a donation. Dinner music to feature Brenda Absher, of Dillwyn, on the piano.
