Food bank to distribute food

Cumberland Community Church located 1542 Anderson Highway across from Cumberland County Library cordially invites you to attend Sunday morning worship service each and every Sunday morning from 10-11 a.m.

The regular monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Board of Supervisors is held each second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room unless otherwise announced.

The Cumberland County Community Food Bank partnering with The Central Virginia Food Bank, A FeedMore Program of Richmond will be distributing food to Cumberland County residents including Cartersville residents on Jan. 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or until all food is gone located at the old Cumberland County Elementary School Cafeteria next door to the gym located 1874 Anderson Highway. You must have already registered to get food or you must see the director Jerry Seal. All food recipients please bring bags. A speedy recovery is sent out this week to all those sick and shut-in.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to the following people. Mary Dimmie, of Farmville, and Margaret Cole, of Cumberland, both on Sunday, Anita Ford, of Appomattox, on Wednesday and Junior Trent, of Cumberland, on Thursday.

A very special anniversary wish goes out this week to Ralph and Fern Dunnavant, of Dillwyn, on Friday, they will be celebrating 27 years of marriage. Also celebrating their anniversaries in January are two other very special couples Danny and Janet Powers of Cumberland and Paul and Elaine Myers, of Dillwyn, on Tuesday.

Our sympathy is extended to the Albert Franklin “Frank” Baird Jr. family, of Dillwyn. He will be greatly missed by all. Our earthly loss has now become heaven’s gain.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association a non-profit organization will be entering their 30 year as a group all members and prospective members are cordially invited to attend and bring a covered dish for lunch for their kick off meeting Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Welcome Wesleyan Church located at 26565 North James Madison Highway in New Canton.
