Gospel sing set for Friday

Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Charlotte Davis, of New Canton, on Monday, and Scott Midkiff, of Cumberland, on Wednesday.

Congratulations to Josh Gentry, of Mineral, and Cheyenne Marion, of Cumberland. The couple were married on Sept. 10 in Goochland.

Victory Baptist Church, 157 Dove Lane in Spout Springs, will be hosting a benefit yard and bake sale on the church grounds to benefit the church building fund for a future home for Victory Baptist Church on Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. To donate yard and bake sale items, contact Crystal Moore at (434) 907-7148. The Cumberland County Community Food Bank, partnering with the Central Virginia Food Bank, A FeedMore Program of Richmond, will be distributing food to Cumberland County residents (including those from Cartersville) on Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or until all food is gone.

Food will be distributed at the old Cumberland County Elementary School cafeteria at 1874 Anderson Highway. You must have already registered to get food or you must see the director Jerry Seal. Welcome all to the Eleventh Annual Fellowship Gospel Singing featuring “Smokey Wilson and Mark Bishop.” This will take place at Becky and Linda’s home on Friday from 5-9 p.m. located on U.S. Route 15 North. To get there, travel a quarter mile past Millbrook/Sheppard’s Store, take a left on Route 709, go a quarter mile to a doublewide on right. Food and drinks will be provided. All you will need is a chair and a desire for a blessing.
