The Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors will be holding its regular April meeting tonight, April 14, at 7 p.m., and the public can listen in.

As is noted on the county website, to call in to the meeting, dial (425) 436-6394. Shortly after that, callers will be asked to type in an access number, which is 867576 followed by the pound sign, #.

Callers will then receive another prompt.

“If you are the host, press star (*), now,” the recording will prompt. “Otherwise, please wait, and you will be joined into the conference.”

Callers should wait to be joined into the conference call.

The county website notes that if callers receive a busy signal, they should hang up and try again. Due to the increasingly high volume of teleconferencing, the lines can become overloaded.

In the April 14 meeting notice by Prince Edward County Administrator Wade Bartlett, he explained how the opportunities for public participation and public input will work for the meeting and meetings in the near future.

“Citizens must pre-register with the county administrator’s office at (434) 392-8837 by 2 p.m. the day of the board meeting,” he wrote. “Callers must be on the line and ready to speak when called upon by the board chair. Please state your name and district of residence. The three-minute rule will apply to all public comments.”

There are opportunities for written comments of no more than 500 words. They also must be turned in by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting, either by mail, to the Board of Supervisors, P.O. Box 382, Farmville, VA 23901; by hand, to the county “payment dropbox” in the courthouse parking lot or by email, at board@co.prince-edward.va.us.
