Eagles win at polar bear meet

Prince Edward County High School’s varsity boys track team placed first at the Nottoway High School polar bear meet Saturday, Jan. 25, while the Lady Eagles varsity squad placed fourth.

Individually for the boys, Hayat Khan placed first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of four minutes, 42 seconds. Reshaud Brown was first in the long jump with a 20-foot-1-inch leap. He was second in the high jump and fourth in the 300-meter dash. Jarvin Perkins won the high jump with a 6-4 result. Abdul Johnson won the 55-meter dash, was second in the long jump and third in the triple jump. Dayland Craft was second in the 500-meter run. Deontray Woodson was third in the 300, and Nathan Hamilton was second in the 1,000-meter run.

For the girls, Saye Woodard won the high jump (5-4), the triple jump (30-9) and the 500 with a 1:32 time. Laila Jones won the 1,000 with a time of 3:49.63.
