Get Schooled: Turkey trot and tales

Published 4:16 pm Thursday, November 21, 2019

The Get Schooled series is designed as a fun interactive way to teach youth about the environment, history and recreation in Prince Edward County and how it relates to what they are learning in school. This program is open to everyone who wishes to be an ambassador of the environment.

This week learn about the wild turkey and try to see if we can call one in to view. On most hikes one or two turkeys are seen. Last month participants saw a rafter of 12 fly across the Appomattox River. Get schooled after learning everything about the wild turkey. Ranger Clint will be the guide.

The event is hosted by the High Bridge Trail State Park and is family friendly. Meet at Camp Paradise, Friday, Nov. 22, 10- 11:30 a.m. The program is free but parking fees apply.
