Millbrook Country Corner experienced an act of vandalism in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, when an individual shattered the business’ glass door.

According to Buckingham County Sheriff Bill Kidd, security alarms for the country store located in the 3600 block of S. James Madison Highway went off 41 minutes after midnight.

Kidd explained that units arrived to find the front glass of Millbrook’s door broken, but no one was believed to have made entry or stolen any money or goods.

Millbrook Country Corner has been robbed three previous times. During previous robberies burglars stole several firearms from the establishment. Kidd explained that the owner of the country store has since discontinued selling firearms.

“They took guns before,” said Kidd. “The man has quit selling guns, and they’re still busting his windows.”

The Farmville Herald reached out to the store owner for comment but did not hear back before press time.

The Buckingham Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the incident.
