Cora Blankenship Looney, age 82 of Greenbay, Virginia passed away on Tuesday October 30, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, Virginia.

Born May 29, 1936 at Blackey, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Conley Blankenship and Pearl Charles Blankenship. She was a homemaker and was a former employee of old Grundy Hospital and Holly Manor Nursing Home at Farmville, Virginia. Cora was of the Baptist Faith and attended the Bagby Church at Farmville, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Looney; five Brothers, Ed, Morgan, Willard, Roy, and Clell Blankenship; six Sisters, Hazel Cooper, Goldie Baker, Helen Smith, Laura Blankenship, Georgie Stiltner, and Vicey King; one daughter, Deborah Charles; one daughter-in- law, Wondie Looney; one-son-in-law, Michael Harold Stacy; one-great-grandson, Justin James Kincer.

Cora was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include, children, Kathy Stacy and husband James of Grundy, Virginia; Regina Kincer and husband Ron of Atlanta, Georgia; Ricky Looney and wife Della of Burkeville, Virginia; Rita Stacy of Hurley, Virginia; Michael Looney of Hurley, Virginia; Leisa Kundman of Chester, Virginia; Teresa Looney of Marion, Virginia; Walter Junior Looney of Farmville, Virginia; Tammy Moody and husband Wayne of Victoria, Virginia; Rodney Looney of Farmville, Virginia; 21 grandchildren, 26 Great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 4, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at the North Springs Old Regular Baptist Church at Wolford, Virginia with Danny Hurley, Danny Ray Justus, Roger Coleman, and Steve Baker officiating. Burial followed in the Conley Blankenship Cemetery, on Straight Fork Road, Hurley, Virginia.

The family received friends Friday and Saturday evening at the church at 6 p.m. where a service was held both Friday and Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Serving as Pallbearers were grandsons and sons-in-law.
