Mary Frances Gryder Throckmorton, 87, wife of the late Arnold Jackson Throckmorton, entered into rest, Friday, September 7, 2018, at her residence in Hephzibah, GA.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 11, 2018, in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, GA.

Mrs. Throckmorton, daughter of the late Wayne and Earline Fowler Gryder, was born in Meherrin, VA. She was self-employed as a cosmetologist and was a member of Hephzibah United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, John Throckmorton, of Aiken, SC and Wayne “Chuck” Throckmorton, of Macon, GA; her daughter, Susan Smith, of Hephzibah, GA; her grandchildren, Kathy, Dee, Traci, Scott, Amber, and Jackie; 15 great grandchildren; her brother, Norman Gryder, of Holden Beach, NC; and her sister, Madeline Slaydon, of Keysville, VA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Gryder of Keysville, VA.
