Marvin Edward Whirley Jr., age 60, of Meherrin, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018.

He is survived by his parents, Marvin E. Sr., and Josephine Whirley; wife, Cheryl Whirley; daughter, Jessica Whirley and fiancé, Gavin Fariss; son, Josh Whirley and wife, Renae; three grandchildren; Camden, Courtlyn, and Chandler Whirley; two brothers, Ronnie Whirley and wife Diane, Randy Whirley and wife, Priscilla; one sister, Pam Yates and husband, Harold; three nephews, Lucas Whirley, Shawn Yates and wife, Kim, and Daryl Lawson; two nieces, Kendall Whirley and Kayla Whirley; a very special friend, Brenda Reamer; and her children, Nikki and Austin Dean, their daughter, Avery; Keith and Chelsie Mitchell, and their children, Dakota and Della; and Jennifer Wilmouth.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch. The family will receive friends at the gravesite one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Prince Edward Farmville Youth Association.
