Ellen Grace Johnston and Sierra McCray both received $1,000 scholarships from the Cartersville Ruritan Club June 14 during the club’s regular dinner meeting. Johnston, pictured above, will be attending Longwood University and McCray, pictured below, will be attending Emory and Henry in the fall. The awards were presented by the club’s president, Fred Shumaker. Johnston’s grandfather, Dover Johnston and McCray’s grandfather, Malvin Caldwell are both members of the Cartersville Ruritan Club.
