FARMVILLE — The Boot Hill Dairy boys instructional baseball team stepped on to the Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association Field of Dreams on Friday, June 6 and left as champions.

Boot Hill went all (regular) season long with only one loss and one during the PEFYA in-house tournament, before claiming their 12-2 win against the State Farm Insurance team in the championship game. Smiles were plastered on all of the boys' faces as they completed their last game of the season strong.

“I am proud of my team and all that they accomplished this season. We had 11 boys and all were big hitters and that is why we were so successful during the season. We out-slugged other teams and were solid in the field,” commented Boot Hill coach Bob Jenkins.

After the game was over, the two teams gathered on the field to shake hands and receive their medals and trophies for participating during the season.

The coaches then gathered all of the PEFYA boys instructional teams on the field to announce the PEFYA Instructional All-Star team.

Players that made the All-Star team were: Sawyer Furlong, M.J. Holman, Walker Jenkins, Tanner Morris, Andreaus Noraas, Noah Boehmer, Kris Ligon, Worth Davis, Mason Lang, Kameron Ligon, Corey Atkins, and Clevante Watkins.

“I am sad to see the season go, but excited for the All-Star season to begin. We have a great group of boys that will represent PEFYA and I think that they can go a long way in the All-Star season,” Jenkins added.
