MEHERRIN, Aug. 3 – Edith Bernard Kirstein, of Meherrin, died Sunday, August 1, 2004.

She was born July 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Russell B. and Lucy Bernard.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Chester H. Kirstein, Sr.; two daughters, Kathy Sink and husband, Tom and Gale Derringer and husband, Chuck; one son, Chester H. Kirstein, Jr. and wife, Linda; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 12, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Meherrin.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Meherrin Volunteer Fire and Rescue or Hospice of Central Virginia.

Browning Funeral Home, Keysville, is in charge of arrangements.
