Wishing all the Fathers a very Happy Father’s Day Sunday.

The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will host its meatloaf supper Saturday from 5-7 p.m. The cost is a donation at the door. Come and support the fire department.

The Prospect Historical Society has raffle tickets for an 8 by 12 shed (by Buggy Top); STIHL MS170 power saw and $50 cash. Members of the society have tickets as well as Merk’s Place. The drawing will take July 3.

Members and friends of the class of 1956 Farmville High School met Wednesday, June 6, for lunch at the Golden Palace. Those present were Jo D. Smith, Nancy M. Dickerson, Fred Floyd, Sean Stockton, Margaret and Richard Stockton.

The descendants of Lavulatte M. and Margaret DeJarnette Price Penick gathered Saturday, June 9, at the Gee-Price Center at Fuqua School for their 50th Family Reunion. Those present were, Al Paulson of South Carolina; Jennifer and Jason Christopher, Emily and Lily of Maryland; Gene and Frances P. Motley of Hampton; Marsha Paulson and son Chase of Richmond; Gwen C. Paulson, Michelle Paulson, Tori Carter of Chester, Jake Abernathy of Lawrenceville; Lon and Mary Jo Stockton, Sean Stockton, Michelle Walker of Farmville, and Margaret and Richard Stockton of Tuggle. Many family members could not be with them for various reasons including sickness. Looking forward to having them with us next year.

Judy Bolt, Flora Bolt and Jennifer Jones met at Applebee’s for lunch following worship service Sunday.

Sunshine Learning Center held its graduation ceremony Friday. Jacob Bolt finished kindergarten. Those that came to help him celebrate were his mother, Jennifer; his brother Joshua; grandparents, Flora Bolt, Vince and Linda Eikmeier of Henrico. Following the ceremony lunch was served at the school.

Friends and neighbors continue to pray for Betty Meadows, Don Meadows and Betty Jean Bolt.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle welcomes you to worship with them each Sunday. Richard Boswell will be the guest speaker Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect welcomes you to come and worship with them every Sunday. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville welcomes you to worship with them Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and each week Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church welcomes you to worship with them Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St., Farmville in the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.

Concord Baptist Church at 12053 Francisco Road, Farmville welcomes you to their Sunday School at 10 a.m. and Worship service at 11 a.m. Vacation Bible School for K-fifth grade will be June 24-28. This is always an exciting time for children.
