ARVONIA, April 29 – James Alex “Buck” Sharpe, 77, of Arvonia, died Wednesday, April 28,2004.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Toney Sharpe; two sons, Wayne Sharpe and his wife, Brenda of Powhatan and Michael Sharpe and his wife, Linda of Arvonia; two sisters, Marie Barker of New Canton and Gladys Wharam of Arvonia; a brother, William Howard Sharpe, Jr., of Georgia and a granddaughter, Ashley Sharpe.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Friday in Arvon Baptist Church Cemetery, Arvonia.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
