CHARLOTTESVILLE — Adam Slate has suspended his campaign for the House of Representatives in Virginia’s Fifth Congressional District.

In a letter to supporters, Slate wrote, “Running in a large field of candidates requires a great deal to fall into place quickly, and at this time, I do not believe I am in a position to continue pursuing the nomination.”

U.S. Rep. Tom Garrett, R-Buckingham, serves the district in congress.
