SOUTH BOSTON — The Southern Virginia GO Region 3 Council recently announced the Southside Planning District Commission (SSPDC) will serve as the Region 3 support organization and fiscal agent.

According to a press release, the commission, based in South Hill, has an extensive history of experience in grant management and stakeholder engagement.

“While its primary service area is in the center of the Region 3 geographic footprint, SSPDC’s professional staff has previously engaged with other partner organizations in the northern and western portions of the footprint, thus ensuring a smooth transition into this new role,” officials said in a press release.

According to a press release, Virginia GO is the state’s emerging economic development initiative.

Southern Virginia GO Region 3 includes Prince Edward, Lunenburg, Buckingham, Cumberland, and Charlotte counties.
