KENTUCKY, May 25 – Wilson “Joe” Henry Adams, 66, of Okeechobee, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, after an ex-tended illness, with his wife Betty Caskey Adams by his side, at Raulerson Hospital. He was born June 29, 1943, to the late Henry P. and Stella Cobb Adams of Pamplin.

He was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church in Pamplin. He is a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force of 20 years and a Vietnam era veteran. Mr. Adams was an employee of The United States Postal Service for 13 years in Farmville and a member of Masonic Lodge, a Master Mason, and a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, in the Pamplin Chapter.

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty; daughter, Julie Adams of Klamath, CA; three stepdaughters, San-dra Mason of Antioch, TN, Sharon Mason of Biloxi, MS, and Rita Logan of Tollesboro, KY; stepson, Robby “Teresa” Mason of Antioch, TN; five sisters, Betty Adams Gryder of Blackstone, Barbara “Clarence” Adams Huff of Chase City, Julie “Gene” Adams Shepherd of Marietta, GA, Terri “JT” Bowman of Charleston, SC, and Peggy Adams Larson of Calieo; four brothers, John “Beth” Adams of Pamplin, Booker “Sue” Adams of Red Oak, Jim “Susan” Adams of Red House, and Kendall “Gloria” Adams of Cullen; seven grand-children, Abby, Ailia, Elidia, Fannie, Julian, Melissa, and Richard; ten step-grandchildren, Savannah, Sawyer, Julie, Joshua, Cody, Gabriel, Sara, Diana, John, and Verena; and two great-step-grandchildren, Tya and Natalie Ann. He is preceded in death by two sons, Wilson Henry Adams Jr. and James Gregory Adams.

Mr. Adams loved nature and was a trapper, hunter, fisherman, and a gardener.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25, at the Aberdeen Baptist Church with Brother Phillip Huffman and Chaplin Barry Phillips officiating. Burial with full military honors followed in the Lowell Family Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be given.
