The Farmville Police Department arrested a 63-year-old Crewe woman for malicious injury following an incident initially reported as a stabbing early on the morning of Aug. 27.

According to Acting Farmville Police Department Captain William “Bill” Hogan, once police arrived on scene at the Town Motel on the 1700 block of West Third Street, they discovered “two females had been involved in an altercation and one had cut the other one with a steak knife.”

Hogan said officers charged Tammie Edwards in connection with the incident, which was reported at 4:21 a.m.
