Appomattox Court House NHP invites community members and visitors to join park staff for fun runs and nature walks on the park’s History Trail. Fun runs of 1.5- to 3-mile distances will take place Wednesdays in August at 6:30 p.m. A nature walk of 1.5-2 miles will take place Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. and Saturday, Aug. 20 at 8 a.m. These activities are free and open to all ages. Fun Runs: Meet park staff at the pull-off on Route 24 for Lee’s Headquarters. On Aug. 10 and 24, meet park staff at the North Carolina Monument pull-off located on Route 24 East. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Nature Walks: Join park staff at the pull-off for Lee’s Headquarters on Route 24. Dogs are welcome on a leash.
