The Farmville Community Marketplace will kick off the season on Saturday by celebrating Earth Day with music by Wyld Chyld & Slade and Folk Medicine. From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., farmers and crafters will display their food and wares.

Extra vendors will be on hand to commemorate Earth Day including Verde Natural Florals with medicinal herb plants and culinary herbs, Girls Scouts Troop 5201 with a recycled craft, American Hempsters with Virginia made hemp wear, natural pHuel sharing ways to keep the planet healthy, Alicia Amos with Barefoot Books offering a tree planting with each item purchased, Twin Lakes State Park, Appomattox River Company sharing outdoor experiences, Earthen Paradise with rock and mineral specimens, Farmville Area Kiwanis with free personal shredding drop-off along with other earth-related information. All are invited.
