Richard Henry Moore, 89, of Farmville, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born April 6, 1926 in Prospect, the son of the late Elsie Paulette and Henry Latimer Moore. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 65 years, Corinne Hamilton Moore; two daughters, Patricia Moore Dobbs (Chris) of King William, and Janet Moore Newman (David) of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Laura Leigh Newman of Washington, DC and David Arnold Newman Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Vernon LeGrande Moore of Richmond, and Robert Latimer Moore (Maxine) of Fredericksburg. He was owner and operator of Moore’s Distributing Company in Farmville for 45 years. He was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church, the Farmville Moose Lodge and the Farmville Masonic Lodge #41 A.F. & A.M. of Virginia, where he formerly held the position of Master of the Lodge. Mr. Moore was an avid golfer and enjoyed a game of golf immensely with his many good friends. A funeral service was held at the Farmville United Methodist Church, Farmville, on Saturday, March 19 with interment at Westview Cemetery.
