Doris Kacperski Newman, 75, of Farmville, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Johnston Willis Hospital in the Thomas Johns Cancer Center. She was born July 4, 1940 in Halifax, a daughter of the late Mabel Duffer Hall and the late Ira E. Hall.

She is survived by her husband, Sydnor Newman; a daughter, Linda Atkinson; a stepdaughter, Katharine Gammon; a stepson, Sonny Newman; four sisters, Mary Sims, Frances Ward, Liz Gosik, and Margaret Martin; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Puckett Funeral Home on Monday, February 29 by the Rev. Michael Kendall.  Interment was in Westview Cemetery.
