PROSPECT, May 19 — Lawrence Wade Franklin, 72, of Prospect, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He was born in Prince Edward County on March 7, 1943 to the late Robert H. and Hallie Wooten Franklin. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and retired from Dominion Power.

His favorite past-time was spending time with his granddaughters, riding 4-wheelers, fishing and hunting. He always grew a huge garden and he shared the harvest with many family and friends.

Mr. Franklin is survived by his loving wife, Sue Campbell Franklin; his son, Lawrence “Larry” W. Franklin Jr. (Dana) of Prospect; a daughter, Stephanie F. Roach (Michael) of Prospect; two grandchildren, Emily and Abby Roach; two step-grandchildren, Brandy Adamson and Ciera Fortner; his brothers, Clarence Franklin and Elton Franklin (Linda); his sister, Nannie “Gin” Nelson and sister-in- law, Joyce Floyd (Fred). He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Curtis and Kenneth Franklin.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 16 in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.
