Local actor Stacey Bradshaw will be traveling to New York City this weekend to see her film “Providence” at the AMC Empire 25 Theater on Times Square.

Bradshaw played the leading role of Teen Rachel in “Providence.” This is her 14th film role. She has previously appeared in award winning films “Touched by Grace” and “77 Chances” (both filmed in Virginia), as well as “Polycarp” and “Wanted” (filmed in Ohio).

“Providence” is the story of Rachel Cartwright and Mitchell Little who grow up in the small town of Providence, Tenn. Their paths keep crossing, but they go their separate ways. It takes a tragedy many years later before they’re reunited. The redemptive romance is all portrayed with no dialogue, using only dramatic action and a soundtrack of eclectic indie music.

“Providence” was recently hand-picked by IMDb editors as one of 15 must-see independent film releases in February.

MovieGuide reviewers wrote, “‘Providence’ is a fun story that really proves love conquers all. Time, distance and life circumstances are no match for the love two people have for each other.”

“Providence” will be released to theaters nationwide on Feb. 12.
