Lena Russell Doswell, 87, of Burtonsville, Maryland, formerly of Farmville, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at her residence. She was a retired educator for the Halifax County, Cumberland County and Prince Edward County Public School systems. Mrs. Doswell was the wife of the late Rudolf V. Doswell, also of Farmville. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, Farmville, with interment at 2 p.m. in the Tearwallet Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumberland.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.    

Memorial contributions may be made to Tearwallet Baptist Church, Building Fund.
