The Ruth Adams Garden Club met Nov. 18 with Betty Meadows as hostess and Lois Gager as co-hostess. Patrick Murphy, senior forester, Virginia Department of Forestry, presented a program about winter tree identification. Members learned to discern certain features to help with tree identification. Samples of winter leaves were presented for members to identify. Murphy supplied copies of the Virginia Department of Forestry publication “Common Native Trees of Virginia,” which is available for purchase through the Virginia Department of Forestry.
