BUCKINGHAM — Community nominations are being sought for the 2015 Buckingham Chamber of Commerce awards.

The chamber is seeking names for the Volunteer of the Year Award and the Business of the Year Award, according to Faye W. Shumaker, president of the chamber.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 8, she said. Nominations should be taken to Moss Motor Co. on U.S. Route 15 south of Dillwyn, or to Kyanite Mining Corp. on U.S. Route 15 south of Sprouse’s Corner.

Entries may also be faxed to (434) 983-4242.

“We have so many dedicated volunteers in many fields and a lot of good  businesses who serve us all year long,” Shumaker said. “Your entry can be short and to the point, but please take the time to nominate someone.”

The awards will be handed out in January.
